I’m taking a break from working on my Institutional Review Board paperwork and final Thesis proposal presentation to think about how much I love cycling and everything it entails. That includes Podium Girls.
You know what I love about Podium Girls?
In general, they aren’t skanks. (see for yourself)

Really. They are very pretty girls who get to wear cute little outfits that coordinate with whatever race jersey they are presenting on the podium.
And I guess deep inside somewhere I wish I too could be a podium girl. Yeah, ok, so I suppose standing on the podium wearing the jersey is better than standing next to the podium handing someone the jersey while wearing a dress that matches. But I need to be realistic here – in all of my life I have only stood on top of the podium a handful of times, and only once did that involve the bestowing and acceptance of a jersey. And Fitchburg doesn’t have podium people. Based on what I’ve seen of the local population of downtown Fitchburg, that is probably a good thing.
So, I decided in honor of this year’s Tour de France that I will make myself my very own Podium Girl dress. A quick survey over on Facebook reveals that 100% of respondents think I should make a KOM Polka Dot Jersey podium girl dress. Apparently my own aptitude for climbing is what lead to this consensus.
Anyway, I need your input on which of the following patterns that I currently have in my collection would make the best Podium Girl Dress (and yes, they are all vintage patterns..that’s how we roll over here at kerry-litka.com. I just scored an entire box of 25 different vintage patterns for $18.99..more on that later).

(keep in mind that the dress I make will be white with red polka dots):

Simplicity 5349 - If I made this one it would be shorter - somewhere between tea length and above the knee
Ok, so go down the page there and vote via comments – I need to get started on this before the Tour starts. I realize that I’ve got some time, but there are a mountain of other projects on my plate right now, including building my own adjustable bike ergometer for my thesis. Yay learning.
